Chef Daniel Tay

Chef / Owner, Foodgnostic Group and Old Seng Choon

A successful entrepreneur in the local F&B industry, Chef Daniel Tay is the founder and former chief executive of the patisserie-café chain, Bakerzin. In 2013, he established Foodgnostic, a state-of-the-art food solutions company that focuses on food contract manufacturing. In the same year he established Cat & the Fiddle, the first online cheesecake specialty store in Singapore. His latest venture, Old Seng Choong pays homage to his father and the confectionary that sparked his culinary ambitions.

Classically trained in the art of French pastry, his impressive resume includes stints at Fauchon, a renowned gourmet food retailer in Paris and at Singaporean fine-dining restaurant Les Amis, where he worked as a pastry chef.

Chef Daniel has showcased his skills and artistry in prestigious culinary competitions such as the World Pastry Cup (1996) held in Singapore where he won the Gold Medal as well as the Inniskillin Icewine Pastry Chef of the Year Award at the World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence (2001).
