PHF Slipper Race is supporting the SPED Financial Assistance Scheme!

80% of the donations raised through the Project Happy Feet Slipper Race 2014 – Total Defence Edition to be held on 22 February 2014 will go to the SPED Financial Assistance Scheme, a programme supported by Community Chest and the Ministry of Education.

The scheme provides financial assistance to needy students from special education (SPED) schools run by 20 Voluntary Welfare Organisations, so that these students can enjoy fully subsidized school fees, uniforms, textbooks and a 75% subsidy for national exam fees.

The scheme aims to enable low-income families that face financial difficulties and challenges to support their children with special needs.

This is the third time the Slipper Race is supporting the SPED FAS. Previous editions of the Slipper Race raised a combined amount in excess of SGD90,000 for the scheme, which has benefited more than 2,000 families.
