Project Happy Feet was part of International Volunteer Day 2012 held at Singapore Management University Green on 25 November 2012.
The event was organised to celebrate volunteerism, and Project Happy Feet, being a non-profit run entirely by volunteers, was given a booth to share more about its work and also to sell some nifty merchandise to fund-raise for underprivileged children’s education.
Open to volunteers and the public, the festivities included free snacks, ice cream, drinks, a concert and games. The event was jointly organised by three charities – Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities, Lions Befrienders Service Association and YMCA of Singapore. More than 5,000 people attended.
PHF merchandise on sale – every cent goes towards the fund!
Mr Lawrence Wong, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Minister of State for Communication and Information, visiting the PHF booth and flipping through a copy of Recipes from the Heart. He interacted with PHF volunteers and was impressed by the work PHF was doing. He especially liked the look of PHF’s collaterals and merchandise, commending PHF for being “really good at putting together everything” and even said “everything looks happy!”
Thanks Sir for your words of encouragement! 🙂
Project Happy Feet would like to thank the organisers of International Volunteer Day 2012 for the opportunity to be part of the event.
