Introducing my co-leader

I first met my co-leader, Jacqueline Ho, during the Inspiring India 2013 interview. The first 2 questions that she asked me were “Are you Singaporean?” and “Are you in the first year of university?”. FYI, I’m a born and bred Singaporean (though some people said that I look more like a Korean) and I’m in my fourth year of study (though I look quite young for that age). I felt that the interview session was very candid and spontaneous.

After getting to know her better over a few discussions and dinner, I came to the conclusion that we had similar characteristics and working styles (as agreed by her). We like to interact with people and hate doing administrative work. Nevertheless, there is always this mutual understanding of each others thoughts and perspectives. This shared responsibility of give and take. For example, if I do not feel like doing something, she will do it without complaints. The next time when it is her turn, I will gladly do more.

Despite the occasional instances of getting frustrated over her inflexibility, I know that I can always rely on her to provide me with the necessary support. I also very much respect her for the ability to distill information and convey it to the person without hurting him/her. The message that she said are objective and concise.

I know that a good working relationship is vital for the success of this YEP trip and I am really very fortunate to have such a good co-leader.

Jacqueline :)
