Two weeks to go before we leave for our Hanoi trip and the donations that are coming in are giving us the jitters. Over the weekend, I pressed the panic button on the team who have begun to (apologetically) spam their friends with emails of appeal, hoping to increase the amount of money we have raised.
All of us agreed that fund raising is more challenging this year. We sensed donation fatigue and recognising that all donations did go to some good cause, it was hard to say our cause is worth supporting more so than others.
The spamming must have worked in some way as the donations started to trickle in, every single cent of which we are thankful for. To date, we have raised close to $2.6K, and while the sum is far from our target of $30K, I am positive that between now and 4 December (where we will stop collections), we will hit our mark, having faith in the generosity of friends and family around.
Special thanks today to the following donors:
- Frieda Loh – $80
- Rita Goh – $200
- Dominic & Angeline Sim – $300
- Albert & Pedin – $200
- Kent Khoo – $120
- Anthony – $120
- Huggy Bear – $350
- Lim Siak Liang – $100
- Lina Lee – $100
- Belinda Chng – $1,000
Look out for our special edition note books and T-shirts that are going on sale to raise yet more funds!
