Project Happy Feet and South East Community Development Council will be setting up a “School Life Fund”, to be launched by Dr Maliki bin Osman, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mayor of South East district at the Chefs for a Cause 2019 event to be held on 7 July 2019 at HUONE Clarke Quay, Singapore.
The fund, administered by South East CDC, will be used for:
- supporting the school needs of underprivileged students attending mainstream primary and secondary schools
- funding programmes for underprivileged students attending special needs schools so they can learn skills that will help them make a living
The idea for the fund was mooted by Project Happy Feet and the Chefs participating in the 4th edition of Chefs for a Cause as they wanted 80% of all proceeds from the Chefs for a Cause event to be channeled to support educational causes in Singapore.
