The idea of ​​this walk by the non-profit organization Project Happy Feet (PHF) was first launched in Singapore in 2011. The two editions held in Singapore (2011 and 2012) supported education programs for 4,000 children and youths in Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Nepal.

Mr Terence Quek, founding member of PHF said: “We’ve seen children in rural areas in Cambodia walking the barefooted or wearing flip-flops for more than 3km just to get to school. By walking in flip flops, we hope it would remind us that there are many poor children out there every day struggling hard to go to school, so we can help them change their lives through supporting their education.”

The entire amount of 90 vnd raised from the walk this morning will be channeled to three social organizations related to education: KOTO, Association for the Protection of the Rights of the Child of Vietnam (VAPCR) and The Loreto Vietnam – Australia .
