Thắm, 19, Tý hon, 23 and Nga, 23 with books for their library
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 2 March 2012 – Project Happy Feet delighted students of KOTO Saigon with two bagfuls of hospitality books to add to the library at their training centre in Ho Chi Minh City.
The students, many of whom come from difficult backgrounds, undergo two years of intensive hospitality training and graduate with a certification from Boxhill Institute to find jobs in restaurants and hotels in Vietnam and overseas.
Some of them would otherwise be living off the streets, with little hope of getting themselves and their families out of the poverty cycle.
Project Happy Feet has been supporting KOTO since 2009, and has sponsored 8 students from KOTO Hanoi. 4 of them have since graduated and have gone on to be gainfully employed. The other 4 will graduate in 2013.
Project Happy Feet would like to thank the lecturers of Singapore’s Temasek Polytechnic Culinary & Catering Management Division for their generous donations of the books.
