The first-ever Project Happy Feet Volunteer Leadership Experience kicked-off on Sunday, 5 February 2012 at One Marina Boulevard.
Designed for key volunteers of Project Happy Feet (PHF), the programme takes participants into the very heart of PHF to give them an in-depth understanding of the organisation, its policies and philosophies, its strategies and operations, the legal and social environment that affect its decision-making, and more.
Participants, who came from a myriad of backgrounds, but all with the intention of serving the community through PHF in a greater way, will go through three half-days of workshops conducted by Directors of PHF Deborah and Grace, and Director of Communications and Outreach Terence Quek.
Some of the participants will also embark on a journey to Siem Reap to retrace the path of the original PHF team to get a hands-on experience, while making a difference to the local community there in their own unique way.
A total of 15 participants attended the first session – PHFVLX Kick-Off Day, which saw them discover themselves and others in the team through an Emergenetics workshop, as well as focus their personal vision and goals for PHF.
Project Happy Feet would like to thank Young NTUC and Emergenetics International – Asia for making the event possible.
