beneficiaries

Chefs for a Cause aims to raise funds for 2 main beneficiaries, namely MILK and Project Happy Feet:

MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund

MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund is a charity organization, which reaches out to disadvantaged children in the hope of developing them into contributing members of society. These children come from troubled or low-income families, suffer from chronic illnesses, physically challenged and often caught in a downward cycle that their circumstances destine them to.

Registered in June 2004, MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund is a charity organisation that was set up to reach out and help disadvantaged children who “fall through the cracks” of our social safety net. We work alongside mainstream programmes, through our partners, to plug the gaps and provide a holistic approach that guide these disadvantaged children back to mainstream society.

MILK helps disadvantaged children and youth, both Singapore and overseas. These children come from troubled families or impoverished communities, suffer from chronic illnesses or are physically challenged. We support them in their education, care and guidance, vocational and livelihood development, medical treatment or other special needs so as to help them break out of the disadvantaged circumstances they were born into.

Project Happy Feet

Project Happy Feet is an organization that improves the lives of under-privileged children and youths in developing countries by supporting programmes and initiatives that empower children and youths through training and education.

Registered in July 2009, Project Happy Feet started out as a charity project of Caelan & Sage Pte Ltd in 2007 when its Managing Director and her friend visited a small village school in Siem Reap. Seeing the poor conditions of the school and the children who attended it, Project Happy Feet was conceptualized to better the lives of children in such countries.

In 2008, staff members and their family and friends raised more than S$25,000 in cash to purchase slippers, school supplies, uniforms and aid in house repairs for 5 more villages in Siem Reap.

This year, Project Happy Feet aims to raise funds for the following organizations:
Blue Dragon Children’s Fund, Hanoi - helps children stay off the streets and provides them with education
Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam (HSCV) – dedicated to serving orphans, homeless children and other children in need in Vietnam through the provision of assistance in the areas of food, shelter, clothing, health and education.
KOTO Hanoi – a not-for-profit restaurant and vocational training program that changes the lives of street and disadvantaged youth in Vietnam by providing them with culinary skills.
Church of Siem Reap, Cambodia – supports and runs learning centres in villages across Siem Reap and the Battambang province. These learning centres provide activities for poor children in the villages,

Project Happy Feet aims to spread its cause and engage more individuals to join its efforts in eradicating poverty through education.

Both MILK Fund and Project Happy Feet are run by volunteers. As such, 100% of the funds raised go towards the beneficiaries directly and no amount is used to defray operational costs of both organizations. 80% of the funds raised will go towards the beneficiaries of MILK Fund, and 20% to the beneficiaries of Project Happy Feet.
