Inspired by Project Happy Feet’s efforts to empower lives through education and training, Yuli and her three sons Zhou Yi, Zhou Yue and Zhou Yang handpicked the precious stones and together designed the ‘Sound of Land’ (岸之心声) to represent Hope (signified by the Rose Quartz), Energy (embodied by the Blue Sapphire), Success, (characterised by the Green Sapphire), Friendship (exemplified by the Pink Sapphire) as well as Devotion to family and friends (symbolised by the Tsavorite). The leaves in the design, crafted from Tsavorite, epitomise nature and earth, which just like the underprivileged children around the world, should be cared for and protected. The distinctive flower patterns and dragonfly on the other hand, add child-like playfulness to the nature’s theme, signifying the vibrancy and happiness the benefited children will endeavour when they receive the gifts of life.
